We present high resolution spectra for five lithium-rich red giants discovered in an ongoing survey based on IRAS colours. An other six stars showing medium strength of the Li line are also presented here. High resolution one order spectra for the program stars were obtained at the Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (LNA) and Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP), and the échelle spectrum of HD 146850 was obtained at the European Southern Observatory (ESO). The 11 one order spectra and the 40 orders of the échelle spectra were calibrated in wavelength and normalized in relative intensity.
Results of short-term variability observations at 1.4 GHz of southern active galactic nuclei are presented. The data were obtained in three different campaigns with a 30 m single dish telescope located in Argentina. The data set corresponding to the first campaign includes polarization information. Residual values are also given for all observations.
We present 9700 visual-magnitude estimates of key objects among southern massive stars, viz. the LBVs/hypergiants HD 6884 (R40), eta Car, AG Car, HDE 326823, HDE 269006 (R71), HD 33579, HDE 269128 and WR stars HD 5980 and WR 40. The visual estimates are complemented with photoelectric light curves obtained over the last two decades in the framework of the Long-Term Photometry of Variables project. Several of our data sets have been searched for periodicities, and this aspect of the data is commented in graphical form (by means of amplitude spectra) and, where necessary, with additional notes. The visual and photoelectric data demonstrate that the sytematic monitoring of luminous massive stars is scientifically very rewarding.
On the basis of high-resolution spectra and Strömgren y photometry, we discuss the nature of Theta Tucanae as a (binary) Delta Scuti star, and present a set of high-resolution digital spectra of Theta Tuc together with comparison spectra of the Delta Scuti star UV Arietis. The spectrum of Theta Tuc shows an amazing similarity to the spectrum of Procyon. The pulsational radial velocity amplitude of Theta Tuc (for the principal oscillation frequency) is of the order of 6-8 km per s. The photometric indices point to Teff=7575+/-130 K, [Fe/H] = 0.02, L/Lsun =1.4+/-0.1 and <= ~3.8. The estimated mass is not higher than 2.0 (+/- 0.1) Msun, and the pulsation constant Q is about 30% smaller as was previously thought.
We present complete archives of calibrated differential UBV photometry of many bright stars, secured in the course of our systematic observing program of bright northern Be stars carried out at the Hvar Observatory between 1972 and 1990. Altogether, 76 Be stars of all luminosity classes were observed and 13,848 differential UBV measurements were secured. A limited number of observations of some other variables (mostly CP stars) is also included. The archives also contain differential observations of many check stars and some red stars, observed during the program as transformation standards. Some of these red stars may in fact be low-amplitude variables. Altogether, the archives contain 33,581 observations of 481 different stars. A careful transformation of all observations into the standard Johnson system was carried out. Besides the final data archives, we also present here all seasonal data sets with original observations which could be re-reduced with a better software in the future if desirable.
Differential Str\"{o}mgren {\it uvby} photometric observations from the Four College Automated Photoelectric Telescope complement published photometry of the Be stars \lambda Eri, FY CMa, 66 Oph, and o And. They confirm and extend variability studies of these stars. A few observations are also presented of 47 Ori, 88 Her, 28 Cyg, 66 Cyg, and 31 Peg.
